What if your costs change?
Profit you can explain.
How it works
Profit = pre-tax revenue − all included job costs − processing fees. Margin = profit ÷ revenue × 100. Break-even revenue = non-processing costs ÷ (1 − processing fee rate). The cost-change scenario adjusts non-processing costs only.
A worked example
A $250 job with $171.20 in included costs and a 2.9% processing fee has $7.25 in fees, $71.55 profit, and a 28.62% margin.
What to watch for
This is profit on the costs you enter. It is not company-wide net income or formal accounting gross profit when overhead is included. Tax collected on behalf of a tax authority is not revenue.
For planning and estimation. Verify your costs and local accounting or tax treatment with an appropriate professional. No currency conversion is performed.
Good questions.
What if revenue is zero?
The tool shows the loss in money and marks margin as N/A because division by zero has no meaningful result.
Can profit be negative?
Yes. Negative results remain visible so you can identify an underpriced job.
How does the scenario work?
It changes your non-processing costs by your chosen percentage while holding revenue and the percentage-based fee constant.
